Christmas Objections!  

Sorry have to dispute on that as I have seen a couple that have been asking us to call it Happy Holidays

It's wonderful, fine if you want to celebrate other holidays. You all need to quit knocking others who want to celebrate theirs.

So many people are so two-faced. You can't talk about Christmas because it offends us, but it's okay for us to talk about any other topic that might be offensive to me.

You're also very narrow minded. I have no problem hearing about holidays I don't believe in. I feel that by learning of other religions and cultures I'm improving my mind. I'm firmly entrenched in my own religion, so hearing about yours won't bother me in the least. Could it be that some people are a little shaky about their own religion so talk of Christianity makes them nervous?

forfein it's much worse than that, the lubavitchers/noahide.org want to place all gentiles under noahide law, under which celebrating Christmas would be classified as 'idolatry' and punishable by death. Bush Sr actually signed into law the *LIE* that America was founded upon the noahide laws.

Also don't let them get away with pretending OUR Christmas decorations are THEIR "hannukah festival of lights". Hanukkah is a very MINOR holiday, puffed-up in importance by nothing more than petty covetousness of our season. They light ONE CANDLE per day, total EIGHT CANDLES. "Festival of lights" my Christian @ss.

Dreadstar why are you so nasty. Let people celebrate Hanukkah and any other non-Christian festivals the way they want. If Christmas decorations and lights are included whom does it hurt? Nobody.

dreadstar, no one is saying that the Jewish Holiday Chanukah is taking the christmas decorations as there own. Just because the holiday is known as the "festival of lights" does not meen that they are talking about your lights on your house. Its just a saying from being excited and glad that God has given them the light for 8 days and not one.

But I agree with you guys, It should be kept called Christmas. If they want to call it happy holliday, or Winter Holiday, than we should change all other holidays from there name, like New years, and change it to the 1st day. because it could be offensive to Chinese people for them not having there new years than. Its just getting dumb, and I think its because people are getting pushed around, and dont have the ability to go for what they believe in.

and why should Christmas be changed, the reason for Christ to be in Christmas, is because it was the day of his birth. Hopefully there will never be any change in this, otherwise, I would be completely pissed off as well, for thats just a really insensitive thing to do. Merry Christmas! to you all.

The thing about "Christmas Decorations" is the fact it is PART of the Celebration!

It is like "Dancing around the Maypole"

Same thing! We decorate the MayPole and dance around it!

We have the "Carnivals" in the Autumn, and we decorate the streets with flags and bunting! Same thing!

We don't do any of those things in the U.S., but then those aren't religious celebrations, are they? Like the U.S. always has decorations for Fourth of July, but it's a national holiday, not a religious celebration, so there's not problem with putting decorations anywhere.

The U.S. has separation of church and state written into the Constitution, which is why the whole issue of decorations on government property comes up in the first place--state property or money isn't supposed to be used to support one religion over another. I don't know what the laws in the U.K. or elsewhere say about these things.

There was a time when "Decorations" were not seen until late December!

Blimey it is just after Haloween!!

I have to agree that by the time it is over we are all glad to see it finished!

There were some stores out here that started stocking up BEFORE Holloween was even here! That is just too much.

When I was in India, In Goa, there was a HUGE celebration, and there were processsions going throught out the night, travelling South!

There were whistles and hooting everying !!
