Why do students hate math class?  

Math's is totally confusion and headache totally critical sub.

maybe they have no money to buy calculator...hehehe

Honestly, I have found that many children who have been through trauma in their lives find it very difficult to do math. I was one of those students. Give me any other subject and I could easily pass it. Now that my health has worsened, I don't trust my math at all. The medications have me where I can concentrate at all. It is really weird.

I was always good at Maths all those years ago when I was at school, and that was the days before we had calculators too. I also believe that Maths is a subject that everyone should learn, just as here in Australia they have to learn English. If only people realised that they do need Maths in their daily lives but as you say many get discouraged when they face a chellenging task. I am not too sure how you can instil in the students how they can learn and understand a subject.

Many people are daunted by Mathematics but I like it because it's logical!

It sounds like you've been unlucky because there are people out there who enjoy maths. I did at high school and university, so did my husband. And all three of my boys enjoy it too. My eldest is doing second year law and science at Melbourne's top university and is looking forward to doing maths this year.
You sound like a good, dedicated teacher and one day soon you will find some students who are eager to learn.
