we have no reason to be happy on our birthday

Age brings benefits and new experiences. You should celebrate, some are not still alive at your age. Count your blessings. Being young is not so easy and I'm glad I'm not young any more, every second of life, at any age, is precious.

i think just for this we must celebrate, to forget we are another year aged

i celebrate..bcoz i'm happy god kept me alive to celebrate this day.....n on dat day ur in a limelight in ur family n in ur friends circle too...n i like dat.

I always treat birthdays as a chance to reflect on my progression and achievements over teh last year. If i have made mistakes I try to learn lessons from them, and generally be grateful that my life is moveing forwards. Its also a time to think of my parents and to also plant trees and generally try to offset my ecological impact in whatever way seems best to me on that day. All of that makes me happy

Yes, true, you should not celebrate your birthday, not only because of your said reason but also what you have achieved so far to celebrate birthday so grandly. I don't normally celebrate my birthday. It will be just another day for me, I will be doing my routine job on that day as if it was another day for me. I feel that only children can celebrate their birthday for enjoyment with cutting cakes, having gifts, etc. Elders celebrating birthday as kids really is not necessary.
