Is it just me |

Or was 2006 a truly crappy year? It will go down in the record books as a stinker of a year. I will be glad to see the other side of it.

2. brendalee (5044) | 3 years ago | Yep, I agree with you. This has been the worst years of my life. One bad thing after another. I sometimes wonder how I got through it. And I don't think anyone would believe me if I told them everything that happened. But its nice to know that I am not alone. And I am wishing you a better year for 2007.

5. roztredtoes (1912) | 3 years ago | Darling: after 71, every year is a stinker but not as bad as the one comming up on you. You can tell your age by how many pill bottles are on the kichen counter. Soon I am going to need a funnel and a air compressor just to get them down. I totally respect you but you have no idea what a bad year is. When you start putting preparation H on your lips and tooth paste on your puckerstring and stick your head in the toilet and gargle your best years are behind you. Your best years are still in front of you. So praise allah and buy a camel. Merry christmass and a stoned new year.

sndcain (3086) | 3 years ago | ROFL MSV!! And Roz, no disrespect to you cuz I always respect my elders and I don't want to send you into the bathroom to brush your teeth with preparation H or stick your head in the loo, but my year WAS pretty crappy. Let me break it down for you... 2006 Year in Review I accidentally helped get my boss fired I lost my job--twice, and 2000 a month in income with it My 16 year old was fired from his first job My dad died suddenly and left my mom penniless My mom moved here from Virginia with 11 cats and I had to find her a place to live. She brought my very sick, 400lb brother with her. The cat I had for 8 years ran away while I was at my dad's funeral My 16 year old was arrested for burglary and vandalism--TWICE My son's life was threatened by one of the kids involved in the burglary scandal. The kids stole a 9mm from his mom. My dryer broke and I had to go to the laundromat for 3 weeks straight My TV broke and it cost 400 to fix it. (It's hi-def) My very expensive digital camera broke and I can't afford to fix it. To to make matters worse, I can't even blame the kids because I broke it! My ex husband is STILL a giant Pr1ck I had to overdraft my checking account to pay for my kids Christmas And to top it all off, my feet really hurt all the time for no reason at all.

sndcain (3086) | 3 years ago | I got your email. Thank you so much for your kind words. I will go back to my doc and get the referral for therapy. And I've started going to the gym, which they tell me helps tremendously. I look at this year as a "season". Sometimes you just have to go through some stuff. But you know, I still feel hopeful for next year. I have a good feeling about it. Things have been pretty good for me the last few years; I think it was just my turn to go through the fire stuff. But I am older, wiser and stronger and I'm handling it much better than I would have 10 years ago.

sndcain (3086) | 3 years ago | Oh, and my cat never came home. We have lots of wildlife (cougars, bears and foxes and raccoons) where I live and I think something bad happened to him.

LovingIt (2253) | 3 years ago | Hi Sndcain, Your year sounds a lot like mine, except at least I didn't lose my dad. I'm so sorry to hear about that. I lost my job, but it was a $4,000 per month job and my unemployment has now run out and I'm single. Can you say desperately trying to find a way to find an income? LOL Have faith, it will all be ok. Hard to do, I know. Now about Roz. Hmmmmmmm. Roz is scaring me because my pill bottle count is already starting to go up!! Oh no!!! So far though I think I have toothpaste and the other on the correct ends and I stay out of toilet water. LOL

9. purplewolf (276) | 3 years ago | the year certainly started out crappy for me and I guess when I look back a lot of stressful things happened, but they seem to have turned around now. Hopefully that is a sign that next year will be better. I tend to think the same every year and it just keeps repeating the same cycle. Maybe it's time to take more control and try to change that!

10. josephperera (2395) | 3 years ago | If you want to hear the bad things that happened in Sri Lanka, the stock martket crashed, bad for me. The war with the Tamil terrorists in the north is starting. There were bomb blasts here and there, (started this year). Then the biggest scam in Sri Lankan history took place. An indian company promised to give work over the Internet and charged $65 to join. The participant is pate $40 per month. They were paying nicely till October and suddenly after collecting about $10,000,000 from customers they bolted. But anyway I am always optimitistic. The glass is always half full for me.
