it's christmas season again. here in the philippines, during this time, children go to the streets begging for money from people. they ask for money as christmas gift from people they meet. one day, i gave a kid 25 centavos. she doesn't want what i gave her. she said i should give her more. when i refused, she threw the 25 centavos i gave her. i really felt so bad. and decided not to hand these kids money anymore.

i used to give before but now i tried not to. why? because the alms you give instead they buy it for food they buy rugbys and it is not good and i also realize if we keep giving them they will never learn to strive, learn to work. They will just keep on begging.

I also experienced the same thing. Every Christmas we open our gate and we welcome kids that asking for some coins as Christmas gift, because they are too many I just give one peso per kid but one time, when I gave one peso to a kid she ask for more and shout on me that's why I make a new plan. I will not give coins to kids again instead I will just give candies. I think that is much better idea.
