What's the deal with kids wearing their pants below their butts?

well, i should say, that's a really good fashion to keep up with, i personally use that on weekends. it makes a lot of things easier to do:>:>, ok jokes apart, well fashion is continously changing and also the competition so there is no wonder that this fashion also exists. levis has already introduced its dangerously low waist jeans especially for girls and we already see thousands of them wearing on the streets. also,comparitively this type of fashion is far more better than other stupid and crazy fashion trends which no body will ever even try to do....

It really looks idiotic, I don't care where it originated,lol, if you can afford a belt or even a rope you're booty does not need to be hanging out of your drawers.A bunch of kids ride the public bus here with just that fashion impairment, walking up bus steps behind..yes, behind..someone with their arse hanging out just isnt that much of a pleasant experience!!!

The start of the sagging pants below the belt actually started in Washington DC, It was used to street gangs as a way of showing they had served prison time, now everyone is wearing it that way and don't even know the meaning behind it.

Ive also heard that it orignated in prison, but i dont know. I cant remember past the age of baggy jeans...I think it was a sort of rebellion from the super tight pants in the 80's? perhaps.

Actually it was started by the police officers. They convinced the bad guys to wear their jeans low like that for a reason. When they are running away, the jeans fall down, the crook falls down and bam they are caught.

Seriously though it was interesting to find out how it really started. I myself think it looks silly. I am 31 though so i'm old lol. You know you're getting old when you start to complain about kids fashion.

Every generation has their oddities in dress. When I was a teen it was mini-skirts, madras plaid, bell bottoms, and poor boy sweaters. When my daughter was in high school, it was all grunge. I think the trend of the low-riding pants is so funny. When I worked in a high school, I actually saw boys walking down the hall lose their pants because they were so loose and hung down so far. Kids always strive to be different from their parents, no matter what it takes.

That's an excellent theory. My son does it and I've given him a few wedgies as a consequence.:) It REALLY annoys me.

I hate this style 99% of the time, except on my friend josh, he pulls it off and he looks hot, but then again he's amazingly hot on his own, so he could wear a paper bag and pull it off.

The number of people I have wanted to dack because I figure they have started the job, I may as well finish it! This fashion drives me nuts! One of the strangest things about it is when they wear boxer shorts under them and they are all bunched up. Man, if I had a child or brother who wore that, there would be some serious wedgie pulling going on.
It seems to be a set group though, the nerds and computer geeks have steered clear, as have most girls (who wouldn't be caught dead with their bunched up undies hanging out). And you would think after the obvious annoyance of viewers of the last Aussie Big Brother due to one contestant constantly having his butt hanging out, that they would realise that it's not just the oldies, it's the attractive women out there too who are saying 'what the?'

The best part about most of them is they ARE wearing a belt! I assume they wear one so the pants actually stay there? There is this one kid I know who wears his pants right under his butt with a belt holding them there and then the rest of the way up it's just boxers. It really makes him look quite disproportional from the back.
