Is being gay so bad?

It's not that I'm worried about what people think, because I am out to family and friends and none of them have problems with it. We grew up accepting a person for who one was, seeing how there was a lot of racism in the neighborhood and my best friends were black. I got to experience what it was like to have words being thrown at you.

here's some thoughts to feed on, you can have religion, you can reproduce, and if you dont have someone to reproduce a child with you can take up the responsibilities that heterosexuals have thrown to the side as guild to them having sex with no protection...otherwise known as adopting a child

Other things you can't do when being gay....Marry, have the same rights as everyone else (your icon is of an African American. I would think you'd realize the wrongness of limiting people or denying rights. Alabama lunch counters ring a bell with you Jwanza?)

We actually need to reach zero population growth. Our ecosystem can not sustain itself with this many people.

Things straight men can't do--orally please a woman (most and probably you, won't go down on a woman), decorate; perhaps you enjoy milk crate as end tables. Entertain; pizza out of the box and beer out of a bottle does not an engagement party make. Fashion; jeans that are three sizes too big and hanging down around your ankles is NOT attractive and won't get you anywhere in the corporate world.

I have to say, thank you so much for admitting that. It's very hard to find someone that actually will. I have experienced those that are swingers, I'm sure all of you know what one is, downing and trashing gays. Yet they play with partners, and fail to admit that they are practicing in bisexual behavior.

Yet, in the end as long as you come to God and admit that you have done things that are wrong then you will be "admitted." What's funny is those who skip over Revelations and fail to listen that says when preachers of the word of God are going to be amongst the "left behind," and some of them not permitted at all.

even though all my life thats what i been taught i dont think i would stand b4 god on judgment day and ask to be forgiven for commiting the sin of "being gay".

pelya if you're going to make a reference about something being a sin after being asked not to then, by me asking not to refer to the bible as your excuse, thus sins are in the bible and not in all religions, then at least make reference to where you believe it states this

Thanks for this reply. I think the big issue with discrimination--against gay people, African Americans, religious minorities, and other socioecomonical minorities-- is ignorance. Peopla are afraid, even terrified and petrified--of the unknown and unfamiliar. In cases like this, people tend to be set in stone as to what they believe is right and what is wrong. I guess I've been somewhat lucky as a Gay man..when people find out that I am gay almost all of them have been really wonderful about it some have not understood and most have asked really intellegent and engaging questions in an attempt to understand.

It is also a fact that there are some people that will always make the choice to remain ignorant by saying "Gay issues don't effect me" but, in some way, gay issues effect everyone. statistics say that any one person has a connection to at least one person who is gay

Additionally, EVERYONE in this world is a hypocrite. Who the heck practices what they preach? Not one person! We're all sinners.

Which is stated within the Bible, it is a sinner that comes to God that makes it into heaven.

Actually, no. It is the ones who are Saved who make it to Heaven. Being Saved is very simple. All you have to do is have faith and believe. A lot of people think it's all about works. They are so wrong.

They think its more about the crowns that one achieves, because they take it too literally. Also, by coming to God, I meant saved.
