Santa is not real???

Santa Its not Real, the present are from parents who celebrate christmas

My son was 8 when he found out Santa was not real. His friends from school told him. My daughter, who is 7, still believes and we still give Santa gifts to my son so his little sister doesn't find out.

I generally starts with their friends talking about it at school etc. He may come home one day and say so and so said that Santa wasn't real and ask you about it - then it's up to you on whether you talk your way out of it or are up front.

I'll admit that I wanted mine to go on believing for as long as possible and it seemed that one year they believed - the next they weren't so sure but on the off chance it was real they continued to at least act like they believed and then one year they just didn't any more - I never actually came out and said anything (lol in fact I've still never said anything)

But probably when they're in about their second year or so of school the doubts begin.

My son was 7 when he was told at school, but he refused to believe them until he was about 9. It was a struggle for him to continue to believe when the other kids at school didn't and they teased him. He kept his head high and let me know the other kids at school were just stupid! I was glad he kept believing until he was 9 it made it so much fun each year. When he finally conceded and I fessed up he was in shock! He had no idea how I could have pulled all that off.


When he first started not believing we had a neighbor come around our house close to his bedtime and jingle bells and say Ho Ho Ho all around the outside of our house. The funny part was I forgot I had set this up and we were putting out cookies and milk when the neighbor came by, I nearly jumped out of my skin and rushed my son off to bed and I went too.

My son will never forget that Christmas, because he was teetering on the edge of not believing but that night he decided Santa was real for at least 2 more years. LOL.

I haven't had to worry about this my children are 7, 5 and 2 and they are all believers. I go out of my way to make them believe. The whole milk and cookies, letters to santa, filling of stockings etc. The don't know about any of their gifts until they wake up christmas morning. A little fantasy in a childs life doesn't hurt.

though its not real but it is a way to see ur kids happy tat they wil get gifts....

oO No Santa is not real OMG what will we do now? Hehehe well maybe you will get another year before somebody at school tells them differant.

I would say go as long as you can! My oldest son, who is 12, does not believe in Santa, but this is the first year. We actually asked him and he told us that he had an idea last year but knew after talking with friends at school. Now I have an 11 year old daughter and 10 year old son that we want to have the talk with since the oldest knows. BTW--he never said a peep to his siblings either. We tried telling my daughter buy she covers her ears and says, "Santa is real!" We think she knows, but just wants the extra gifts. I tell ya, my kids are at that "sneaky" age where they will do what they can to get extra gifts, candy, or money...

I think the most common thing that gives it away comes from their peers.

My daughter was 11 and oldest son 10 when they "realized" Santa wasn't real. Granted, some people may think that it went on a little too long, but I wanted my kids to figure it out on their own, which they did. They now help my husband and I keep the Santa tradition going on with our youngest 2 children who are 4 & 3, which is so much fun! You should still have another Christmas or 2 with your son before he realizes that Santa is just a myth.
