Are the toys you buy your kids safe?  |

|  Have you ever had a bad experience with a toy? Once when my oldest was about 6, I bought my her a race car that was battery powered. For some reason she put in on her head, and it had enough power to twirl her hair up into the car, and around the wheel. I almost pulled the hair right from her scalp. I ended up having to cut a big chunk out of her hair. It left a nice size lump on her head.
I had purchased the baby a baby rattle and she got her hand caught in it all the way up to her arm. She screamed. My son once had a tricycle, and every time it made just the slightest of turn it would flip him over.
Were do you get your information on safe and unsafe toys? Do you read recall sheets? Or just carefully examine as you buy? Were you ever dissappointed in your purchases?

There was a recall on a musical toy my daughter had, so I ordered the speacial part to fix it, but even before then she never had a problem with it.

| |  well it's not that that race car was unsafe, but she should not have had it up to her head. the baby rattle thing that could just happen to any baby, but the tricylce i would look into. I haven't had any unsafe toys as long as they were used in the right way myself. my son usually hurts him self when he is using it in a way he shouldn't.

| |  I don't think a lot of toys are safe for kids, or pets. You need to be careful and look them over. I haven't had a bad experiece to share though. Thank goodness. You need to read reports and try to check them out.

| |  nope not yet.. but yes childern enjoy playing with toys when they are able to break it in some smaller pieces.. so really it matters.... that you should choose toys carefully
