Baby Shower coming up, any great craft ideas?

Washcloths are a good idea as well as a baby bottle snuggly. Bibs are nice. Booties are common however I am not sure when the last time I saw any baby with booties on. Blankets are always needed. Could make a mobile!! Hope any of these ideas help!!

If you think you possibly have time to make a little baby blanket (doesn't have to be the crib size by any means a nice small one to cover a car seat is great), those seem to be the hit of the showers. I know this isn't a novel idea but I think most new moms really appreciate the baby afghans. I shouldn't think a small one would take too long. Other than that I would see if I could find out if there is a theme to the nursery. You might crochet a toy that goes with the theme if they have one. I hope you figure something out.

What about a nice big loosely crocheted or netted bag to hold all the little toys that escape all over the place? That might be welcome

There are these little bloomers that you make out of washclothes. You make 2 and lace them together to form a pair of cloths
Here is one site for the pattern just change dishes to baby and dishcloth to wash cloth, or make up your own. These can be made in a short time and make excellent gifts.

I think the baby washcloths is good idea seeing you donot have a lot of time. You can probably make a hat and a pair of booties.

At my baby shower I got lots of cute handmade blankets. I also got a diaper cake that a friend made for me, it was so cute. She just rolled up diapers and tied them together with ribbon and she made three tiers. She put socks, teething rings, bibs, a hat, and other things.

When I go to a baby shower, I take a little something sexy for the Mom, to reaffirm that though she had a baby, she can still take time to feel special herself.You could crochet a little make-up bag and add some eyeshadow and lipstick or a sachet for her dresser drawers so everything doesn't smell like baby powder.

I was at a baby shower once where a guest only brought an IOU. We all thought it was strange till we read it. It was an IOU for a blanket with all the baby's details on it. You know like the weight, date of birth, etc. It's a great gift and it's something the mom and the child can treasure forever. But needless to say it can't be made till after the baby is born.

i can't crochet at the moment but i do knit and i made my brother and sister in law a knitted help aid. I used a toilet roll for the size and knitted a cover to fit it. Then knitted little pockets and stitched them randomly around the holder and then added a little bunch of cotton buds, some mini bottles of baby bath, shampoo all things that would fit in the pockets. it looked great and she said it would be really useful at least it was all organised and she knew where it was if she needed it quick.
perhaps you could try something similar but in crochet if you can't knit. It did not take me long to knit and it was unusual.

Since the baby will get a whole bunch of things, get somethings for the other siblings and for the mom and dad!

Since you are fairly crafty you could make up a gift basket with some scents, extremely moisturizing soaps, and other little luxury items. She will appreciate that.

For the dad you might getbeverage mies or other "manly" things. You woul dhave to know what the fellow likes but the idea is to get things that they aren't going to have the time or money to get once the baby arrives.

You might give them a gift certificate for a night out that includes movie and meal. Its tough when all your energy is going to a new baby. You need time away to be a couple again!

For the siblings you could make a small basket for each child and put some inexpensive care items in for them, or whatever you think would make them feel special too.
