Nikon Coolpix 4300 Issue

I have a Nikon CoolPix 4300 it is about four years old, it has developed an intermitant fault which is becoming more frequent, when I take photos a "Warning Please Wait For Camera To Stop Recording" sign comes up on the monitor and shuts the camera down, then I have to turn it off and on and try again, the camera is now doing it regularly and has become unreliable, I have tried different memory cards, making sure the batteries are fully charged, resetting it back to the factory settings and reformatting the cards but it doesn't seem to fix the problem...does any body know how I can fix this problem, if so I would be grateful for your help...my email address is nzgarry@yahoo.co.nz Thank you Garry from NZ
