How long do you leave your tree up after Christmas if you put one up!?  |

 We tend to take our down the day of New Years. Since we have a fake one which is fiber optics it is not so much of a rush for us, however, if you have a real one then how long before it makes too much of a mess?

1.  themyl (593) | 3 years ago |  We usually take our tree down on January 1 of the new year. We like to buy a real tree because it makes the house smell nice. Once we take it down, we take it to one of the recycling centers near us. They are used to be taken to the beach and piled up to create sand dunes.

| 2. brendalee (5064) | 3 years ago |  Well, I actually didn't get one up this year. But in the years that I did put one up, I took it down on January 1st. I too have an artificial one. Once in awhile we get a real one but it comes down the same day, we just don't put it up as soon as we would a fake one.

It seems odd to me once Christmas is over. I just hate to take it down. It always makes me sad. I love the holiday time and I hate when it ends. It is kind of a let down.

I really don't want to do it by myself but my fiance works all the time so he is tired when he gets home. Plus we are moving at the end of the month so hopefully before then!!
