I have an eight year old daughter who is extremely interested in crafting and anything to do with it. She wants me to teach her how to knit, but she is left handed and I am right handed. So, everything that I do she is doing backwards so it is very difficult for me to teach her. Does anyone know of anyway that I can teach her without confusing her or myself?

Have you thought of buying her one of those knitting aids? They sell them at Walmart and they look like a sort of loom. It might make things easier for you! I personally would talk her into learning how to crochet. It is easier and it should not matter if you are left or right handed. Think about people who play the guitar. Even if you are right handed you always put your left hand on the neck of the guitar and learn how to press downt the strings with that hand. It just takes more practice.

I've never thought of these aids. I will definetly check into them. It's funny that you would mention a guitar, as we did buy her a childs one last year, and she couldn't play it very well, as she had to play it upside down. So she gave up on it. We had the same problem this year with a rug hooking kit.
