Once Idi Amin, the one time Dictator of Uganda had the idea of changing the name of Uganda to Idiland. He told his idea to the then leader of Cyprus, Archbishop Macarios. "That's not a good idea", said the Archbishop, my country is Cyprus and the people are Cypriots. So if your country is Idiland the people will be Idiots. Idi Amin dropped the idea immediately.

| |  Probably because the word racist (with a negative impact) was already coined before 1895 - the year auto racing was started. Hence, people opted for the term race car driver.
