SVU Shake Up

Chris and Mariska actually ARE the show. I've interviewed Mariska and I say go for it. She isn't getting any younger and this is her best shot at getting a big pay day. And she won an Emmy. Any time you win an award for your job, especially one that special, it is natural to ask for more money. And Chris was nominated for an Emmy award, so.

Mariska won an Emmy. She's entitled to ask for more money. As much as I love Richard Bezler, Mariska and Chris really are the show. They're the two most compelling characters from any Law and Order series, and they have the best on screen chemistry. And to be honest, at this point, I think they're two of the top actors on prime time. Considering how long they've been on SVU, they aren't going to be able to get any other large primetime jobs. This is their show, this is their job, and considering what some*sitcom* actors have been paid, I think they're well within their rights to request larger paychecks.

Since they have changed the dynamics of the show this season I have not really watched it all that much.

I think neither are working as much they should not get a raise. I mean you see one or the other and maybe the two in passing at the same time but they are not working together.

I feel that they are the show. They are the main characters in this show. If they were to leave the show just wouldn't be the same.

I agree that they are the show. I don't like it when "olivia" isn't working with "Elliot". I really didn't like "Danny". But I'm wondering if the raise that they want is reasonable or not? I'd hate to see the show end because of it. Then they all lose out.

they deserve every cent they can get, they are the show, and no mater how many reruns they show it is always good, i love for the marathons to come on and that ci law and order has nothing on svu!!!!!!!!i say go for the gusto for both of them!!!!!

They are the show. The original concept was for a large ensemble cast. It now revolves around them. Let Mr. Wolf share the wealth. It is my favorite of the franchise.

I am usually one of the first people to say that I think actors and actresses make too much money, but I do believe that they are entiled to more pay. I don't really know if that is just becuase I like the performers or that I really hope SVU comes back for another season or what.

As everyone else mentioned, I think it really has to be taken into consdieration that Mariska Hargitay one an award for her performance. That is enough to make anyone want more money, rightfully so.

I stated in another post that was similar to this one, I don't really think that they expected SVU to get this popular or that Mariska Hargitay would win an award. If they did, they would have anticipated the actors wanting more money.

In all honesty, I really hope that they get it or at least come up with an agreement. I really want Law and Order SVU to stay on the air, but I really couldn't imagine watching it without Mariska Hargitay or Chris Meloni.

Well I guess if they think they should get more money who am I to say they don't deserve it. Only they know how much each actor is getting. I would however hate to see them leave if they don't get what they are asking for. I know it happens a lot with actors and many times they don't get what they are asking for but this is a hit show so my guess is they'll get the additional money they are requesting.

I really like Mariska Hargitay and I don't watch often when she isn't on the show. There have been so many episodes that she has been in that I just really loved and I don't think they would have been the same had it been someone else playing that person!

I think the people who make the show always make slightly more then the other people. So if they are the show then yes I can see them asking for more money.
