After Saddam's execution.. the question remains, What about Osama? email this discussion to a friend?

myLot reputation of 89/100. redamazon (485)3 years ago

So much attention has been focused on Saddam and bringing him to justice for the crimes he's committed, that the focus on bringing Osama Bin Laden to justice has been just about forgotten. Media coverage has died down so much you rarely even hear a mention of his name. Do you think that our president and our government are doing all they can to bring justice for our fallen in the 9/11 tragedy? Or, did they never REALLY plan to persue Osama, now or ever for his crimes?

I know they still are, although the press doesnt really cover it, i know of some troops that are over there still fighting and looking for him. The media is very flaky, they only cover whats popular at the time

myLot reputation of 89/100. redamazon (485)  3 years ago

I partly agree with you on this one. I agree that the press is very fickled and go with what ever is the "hot" item for the moment. That is very true! But although our brave and wonderful troops over there are doing their best... I don't think their superiors are pushing hard on the capture of Osama as they are with other matters.

If you think about it, the amount of security and all the underground bunkers and such Saddam had, and they just happened to find him cowering in a hole in the ground (dirty but healthy), and Osama is apperently soooo very ill, to the point that it was in the press he may be dying, and he is yet uncaptured? I would think a man so ill it would be difficult for him to be on the move so much and would be easier to find. Just a thought to leave you with. Thanks for the reply and Happy New Year to you!

Excellent question. From the beginning of the american troops going to Iraq I was wondering what was the real reason they were in Iraq and did they forget about Osama bin Laden? I am one of those who doesnt believe the entire story that was fed to us on the news on 9/11. Osama's name was a ticket to get Bush into the middle east so that his buddy Cheyne could make the big bucks. They think the whole american public is gallable enough to go for that? Now the question arises. If Osama and his crew were responsible for 9/11 what in the world were they doing all the way in Iraq? If they found Sadaam in a hole why in the world havnt they caught Osama? Just a joke between my friends and myself" Osama is hiding in the whitehouse sippin tea"

myLot reputation of 89/100. redamazon (485)  3 years ago

You've definitely hit on a lot of important questions and made some good points. I don't buy a lot of the media that was spoon fed to us either and I believe a lot of information was either twisted or left out. So as far as your joke goes, Yeah!.. he's kickin' back in Lincoln's bedroom with room service! Thanks for your comment and Happy New Year to you!

I just want to say that i´m against the death penalty there´s allways gonna be a bad spell on us if this old tradition will live on. That´s my point,
it´s a shame that it hasn´t vanished yet´.

Bush in my eyes is also a terrorist, he´s no good for the world i can´t understand that he got president. We had lots of information about this war he´s fighting in our german tv and for me he and his leadership are evil aswell they are responsable for puting up these guys like Osama. We recived information in documentaions that the U.S. goverment knew about the twin tower threat and they just let it happen so they could go on with this war.

I hope you get it all right it´s hard for me to answer in english in german i could get it much better to the point, sorry about that.

myLot reputation of 51/100. MrNiceGuy (3003)  3 years ago

Thats a lie. The US government knew the Osama wanted to attack the US. That is it. How is that a warning?

An evil? Terrorist? Hardly... Good to see German TV is still propaganda free, pffft.

myLot reputation of 89/100. redamazon (485)  3 years ago

I have to agree that President Bush no good for the United States and does not have the American publics interests at heart. I sincerely do believe that the president as well as others had prior knowledge of the 9/11 attack and instead of acting on it to protect our citzens, they acted on making a profit for themselves.

myLot reputation of 96/100. Lewah69 (1218)  3 years ago

I just said what is the truth that´s all but in the last end we the normal persons the customers in their eyes can do nothing about it, sadly but true. We have to get pleased with our own lifes, find some way to get trough it that´s it. thanks for your comment redamazon we are in the new year since 30 minutes now our time and we are good moods in the moment that´s what counts. all the best Mike

i think he will never b caught he is very clever he is fooling everybody for so long n he will continue to do like this but if by chance he is caught he will suffer as the same as sadddam n his fate will b same as saddams

myLot reputation of 89/100. redamazon (485)  3 years ago

I understand your feelings on this, I am having my doubts that Osama and others involved will ever be brought to justice. If it does actually happen, it won't happen until after President Bush's term is up.

Yaa now a days in the media we rarely hear of osama's name...but one day surely he will be caught and will be punished more severely than that of saddam.

Not that I am implying that this is the case, but I often wondered if Osama and his network of cronies did not have a lot to do with pointing focus on the louder, brasher Hussein. I feel like there may have been a guided effort to allow Hussein play the part of world's most evil man for a while so Osama could retreat into the comfort of having been all but forgotten.

myLot reputation of 89/100. redamazon (485)  3 years ago

Yes, I agree that attention was diverted from Osama to Saddam, but I think the largest part of the diversion was created mainly by the US government and press. Thanks for your input!

The whole focus on Iraq was basically to divert attention from the embarrassing fact that the US had no idea of where bin Laden actually was, and even with all their super-duper spy satellites and intelligence operatives and troops they weren't able to flush him out and bring him to justice.

They knew where Saddam was, though, and even though he had nothing to do with it, they didn't like him very much anyway and wanted him gone. So they thought they could concentrate on bringing him down and the American public would be dumb enough to believe that he was a co-conspirator in 9/11, thus sating their thirst for revenge and making America feel good about itself. If they went on about Saddam enough, then everyone would forget about their utter failure to track down Osama.

Well, this worked to some extent. Like you say, nobody ever mentions Osama these days. And most of the public probably do believe that just because Saddam also happened to be a Muslim who hated America, he and Osama were best buddies. (They were from completely different and opposing sects of Islam, but it's not like Fox News cares about such details.) Unfortunately, thousands of troops and civilians have died unnecessarily just so Bush wouldn't have to deal with the humiliation of not being able to catch the person who was actually responsible for the 9/11 atrocities. Way to go.

myLot reputation of 89/100. redamazon (485)  3 years ago

I agree with many of your points, this whole situation has been grossly mishandled, and that is putting it mildly. There has been far too much suffering and death and has gone on for far too long. I stated earlier in this discussion to a post, I do believe that once Bush is out of office, that we have a chance of getting back on track and begin to heal, but justice won't come until Bush is no longer is in office. Thanks so very much for your lengthy reply!
