As a parent what do you feel is the hardest part of being a parent?
Have you ever felt you are doing the same things your parents did when they were raising you?
Do you feel you are doing things differently because of the way you were raised?

I think the hardest part is finding time for yourself!!

Yes that can be very hard. I remember when all of mine were home, it seemed like I didn't even have tine to use the bathroom. But now that they are all in school, sometimes I feel its too quiet, but at least I can get some work done.

making sure they grow up the right way

Right on we have to make sure that grow up to be fine women and men. Now a days the world is so screwed up. And the kids are following this, they see what there friends do and want to do the same. But we must be strong for the kids, and we must set a good example.

I like what you said in the other discussion about parenting....

Discipline is surely the hardest part of being a parent. Doing things the right way, and teaching that to your children is for me, the hardest part.

Thank you. Its hard being parent, sometimes you second guess yourself. But we are human and we do make mistakes. But we learn from the. Discipline is hard you want the best for your children and some times that includes punishing them. I tell my children all the time, mommy maybe hard on you at times. But always remember mommy wants whats best for you. When you grow up and have kids you then see what mommy was talking about. And you will probably say the same things to your children or you will say I remember when mommy...

Haha...the parents' creed: "Someday you'll have kids of your own and you'll understand!"

Can't tell you how many times I've said that to my 16 year old. I told him I fully expect an apology from him when he has his own teenagers to deal with...

Punishing kids is hard. My little boy is only four, and sometimes when I have to get onto him and put him in time out or something, it's hard. He cries, he gets upset, and it makes it really tough to stand my ground.
