History has shown this over and over again. From David Koresh and the Branch Davidians in Waco, Texas to TV evangelists. Take for example snake handlers. There is reference in the bible to people handling and being bitten by serpents yet suffering no ill effects; based on this specific biblical reference (and we are talking a tiny reference in the bible) there are strains of religious followers that also handle poisonous snakes in the belief that they will not be affected.
That is the issue with written words I guess. They can always be left open to interpretation and it ultimately comes down to the strength of the individual or group's ability to promote their case in point.
Osama is no different. There are certain passages and doctrines contained within the religious writings that he follows that suit his crusade. Yet the passages he places most emphasis on may not drive another to act. Interpretation.
