dragon, myth or real?  |

 If you've seen Eragon movie, you'll agree that Saphira the dragon was made so real. Dragon has been known by many countries since ancient times by different names, from europe, china, asia, america, etc. There are many tales about it. How did all those people from different places picture the same (or almost the same) figure, while they were not communicating each other (remember, in ancient times, people did not travel like we do today).
Was that a coincidence, or was it because dragon did live sometimes log ago? I'm not talking about dinosaurs, I'm talking about dragon, the real dragon. Anybody has facts about this?

Although there is an island called Komodo off the coast of Indonesia (I think) where a breed of giant lizards called Komodo Dragons can be found. No wings though and they don't breathe fire.. | |

I am also thinking about dinosaurs, because if there are proofs regarding the dinosaurs existence, then there should be proofs also regading the existence of dragons. But until not proven, it is still a myth.

I think that there may have been dragon's in past ages, becuase you are right about the fact that many different peoples havestories about dragons. Maybe dragon remains HAVE been found, and either have been hidden, or mis-identified as dinosouars..

Most likely what happened is that people of ancient times stumbled upon dinosaur bones or some of the (now extinct) large snakes that existed during that time. Several of these land snakes make the anacondas of our times look like garden snakes. Both would be things that nothing but the fantastic could explain and would be perfect grounds for the basis of the dragon myth.
As a lover of dragons though I would love for actual proof to be found that dragons did exist and (maybe) still do. I'd pack my bags and head off to find them in a heart beat if this were the case.
