The results of a sonogram!

No I never wanted to know what my baby was going to be. it was nice have it a surprise.

I'm not pregnant yet, but my fiance and I hope to start trying some time this year. We've talked about this issue previously, and he really isn't too bothered about it either way and says it's my choice. I agree that the surprise would be amazing, and because it's nature at work and so exciting, but personally I think I will find out the sex of my baby just for preparations sake, as you said.

I also think I would feel strange talking about "It" in my tummy, rather than "he" or "she":)

We have decided to find out what we are going to have, but we wont have that ultrasound until 24 weeks. We want to know because we want to he prepared and it is really hard to get clothes in neutral colors.

When I was pregnant with my daughter I couldn't wait to find out. I honestly don't know how anyone is able to wait when there is the option of knowing. If you think you could actually wait 9 months to know your babies gender than you are stronger than me. Good luck with the new baby!~

I did not find out with my oldest until I was 8 months along. Our other 2 never did let us know. It all turned out just fine since all 3 of our kids are girls. I think it can be nice to know. There is nothing like the surprise of finding out during birth though. I named our oldest & youngest. I let my husband name our middle daughter & it took him forever.

I personally think that it's common sense to find out. Unless you already have a boy and a girl and it honestly doesn't matter what you're having next. I would want to know just so that you know what type of clothes to collect, what themes are appropriate for the nursery. We did a lot of scrounging and collecting to come up with all of our baby items before the birth and all of the boys clothes would have ended up going to waste.

That and I'm glad to have the extra time to get over not having a boy and learning to appreciate having a girl.

I have one child and I did have a sonogram. I wanted to know what clothes and colors to buy and I am too impatient to wait until he was delivered. I know a few people who have waited with every child to find out and I think that is an awesome surprise to get. Sonograms aren't always correct though, so sometimes people set up for a girl and at delivery time, surprise, it's a boy! If I have another child I would have a sonogram again, there are enough surprises for me as it is!

I haven't ever had a child but I am wanting to have one. My husband and I don't think we want to know what it will be when we do have one. I like the idea of being surprised. I know someone who was told they were going to have a boy and it turned out to be a girl. They were so upset because they had painted everything blue and bought all boy's stuff.

WHen it was time for me to find out what the sex of the baby was I couldnt wait. There is no way me personally could wait till I delivered. I needed to plan. So when I found out I was having a boy I got to decorate the nursery buy him clothes and get myself ready for a new baby boy

I remember as soon as I knew I was pregnant I wanted to know what I was having! For several reasons in fact, but the biggest being that I was going to have a baby shower and I didn't want to get a bunch of frilly pink dresses if I was going to have a boy, and I also wanted to narrow down the list of names. Another reason was that my boyfriend would always talk to my stomach and he wanted to know if he should be calling the baby his "little buddy" or his "little girl" lol. Turns out it was a little bouncing boy in there! I'm really glad we were able to find out the gender of the baby before it was born so we could be better prepared in the area of clothes and nursery decorations. Though I can understand how it might be neat to be surprised, maybe next time!
