There is a statue in Muncie, Indiana referred to by the locals as Chief Munsee. The legend goes that it is cursed because of the white man stealing the land from the Indians. So anyways anyone who stares at the statue, is doomed to die in Muncie. Does your town have any legends like this?

One more thing... When Uncle Kermit lived in Biloxi, there was this railroad track that cut through a cemetery there. He told my folks and me that people living on one side of the track couldn't be buried on the opposite side. This was true of either side of the track. As I recall, it was the north and south sides, so the legend went that, if you were living on the north side of the track, you couldn't be buried on the south side of the track--and, if you were living on the south side of the track, you couldn't be buried on the north side of the track. I'm going to stop here and have you to do your own research on this situation to see if you can come up with why this might be...

I'm not sure about Anderson, but I know that there's a legend that, on the campus of IU, there's a statue where the person is holding a couple of balls. If a virgin walks in a certain area near to the statue, it will drop its balls. At the time I heard this, it hadn't yet dropped its balls. The secret? If you weren't a virgin, you could care less about walking there. If you were, you wouldn't want to. Me? I'm strange! When I was in high school, I was there with my folks and Uncle Kermit, and I decided that I was going to test it out once and for all--so I boldly went where no virgin had gone before! Outcome? Nothing happened... Go figure...

Thanks for the info. That's a new one for me and I've lived here all my life. Thankfully I haven't stared at the statue so I still have a chance to die elsewhere. Not that dieing here is a bad thing. And since I'm such a homebody, it wouldn't surprise me if I did die here.
