Why do so many people on MyLot talk about their relationships?

I am really surprised that this discussion board focuses so much on people's relationships. Why do you think that is? On other sites that I belong to, people talk about music, books, movies, places to go and things to do. Here they seem to focus on what's going on with their boyfriend or girlfriend, husband or wife or kids or parents. Sometimes, it feels like a big soap opera. When someone discusses something different, I am almost shocked!

I am having a hard time finding discussions to contribute to for that very reason. The biggest part of the topics that I am reading don't even make any sense to me. I want to find a group of people to exchange ideas with and expand thoughts with. Earning a bit of mad money makes it nice, but it will have to be interesting enough to make it worthwhile for me also. I am new here by a few days.

You are so right. There are a lot of people on this site, and you would think that would make it ripe for great topics and conversation, but that's not necessarily so. Let me know if you have a way of filtering through to find some interesting topics. I'm still trying to figure it out myself.

I sometimes watch "General Hospital" if you can believe it, although I don't like to admit it. My sister got me hooked. However, when I watch that or any other TV show, I know that it is all made up and the characters are fictitious, not real. Here, when I read about everyone's drama, I usually find it sad. Everyone seems fixated on the negative when there are so many things to love about life and so many wonderful things to experience and learn about. I guess if everyone was talking about things in a more balanced way, I would have a different opinion, but when people bring so many troubles to a discussion board like this, I'd rather stick with the soap operas.

I guess that this is a universal theme...how we get along with the people in our lives. However, it sure seems like a lot of drama is happening out there.

many people on MyLot talk about their relationships because they can and thy can get help aswell its always good to discussion problems and find out thr solution!and besides they get help and money aswell!:)
