The Mighty Philadelphia Eagles |
|
However improbable at the beginning of the year and especially in the middle of the season, the Philadelphia Eagles actually have a better shot of winning it all this year when compared to the last few years. The NFC is just weak enough for the Eagles to represent this year in the Superbowl. No one has counted the Eagles in, most were talking about the Carolina Panthers in the beginning of the season, where are they? At home doing laundry or whatever it is that football players do after their season has ended. Hmm...then the analysts were talking about the NY Football Giants or the Dallas Cowboys - again, where are they? At home. What are your views on the league and the chances of the Philadelphia Eagles to win it all? Am I just dreaming?

1. scorpiobabes (1531) | 3 years ago | I heard on the news this week that experts are predicting the winner of this week's game 1. takes the NFC and 2. takes the whole enchilada. New Orleans is facing a different Eagles team this time and I think Philly's got a fair shot at winning. Besides, didn't some group of fools pick Tony Romo to go to the Pro Bowl, but not Brian Westbrook?

| william19flores75 (5) | 3 years ago | Thanks for your comments, I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who thinks that we will win it all - no matter what the "experts" say. Westbrook is playing with a chip on his shoulder and something to prove - he should have been picked to go to the ProBowl but I think a superbowl win will calm him down and open up the eyes of the rest of the league. Nice Jersey by the way. Your name is scorpiobabes with an "s", where are your friends? LOL

scorpiobabes (1531) | 3 years ago | not here...my nickname in high school was Babes (hence, the s on the end of my name)
remember a few years ago, how hyped up the trip to the Super Bowl was and those Believe and One shirts that were sold? I think that anyone who's been a fan all along is fine, but it's those of us who actually believe they've got a shot
about westbrook...yeah, I'd have a chip on my shoulder too if I was racking up 100 yards a game and they allow a QB who dropped the ball at the snap go! (think Romo) Merrill was right--they should wait until the end of the season to make the votes (suppose Donovan had been voted in the week before his season ending injury?) the pro bowl needs to be revamped IMHO

kgwat70 (10106) | 3 years ago | I definitely agree that Westbrook should be in the Pro Bowl and even Jon Runyan deserves to be there. Westbrook always puts up great numbers, more so this year. He is one of the biggest weapons in football. He may get in anyways if someone drops out due to injury or personal reasons but he should have been voted in.

2. dragonryder (3573) | 3 years ago | I would have to say San Diego Chargers. Sorry to break your heart. They have a solid defense and a very potent offense. I agree with you that the so called experts don't know anything. If you listened to them 6 weeks ago the Cowboys were going to win it all. And from what I seen last Saturday with Romo, I'm amazed he even made it to the pro bowl. There were more Quaterbacks more deserving than him.

scorpiobabes (1531) | 3 years ago | how could Dallas 'win it all' when the Eagles beat them twice? Currently, the experts are saying that the two strongest teams in the NFL are in the NFC and that they're playing one another this weekend (Philadelphia and New Orleans). Reid was no fool when he signed Detmer back to the team to hold the ball for Akers...he's the 'third' quarterback in case of the worst. I can't wait until tomorrow though...it's gonna be a good game no matter what!

| jmcgready (8) | 3 years ago | I'm kind of bummed out that they lost to N.O. - of course this means I want the Saints to go to the Super Bowl (and win it handily) just so Philly can have the face-saving quip:
"well, none of you guys could beat 'em either"

kgwat70 (10106) | 3 years ago | This was definitely a heartbreaking game and just can not believe that Reid would punt on 4th down near the end of the game. McAllister was killing them all game long so they should have known to go for it on 4th down. Of course, we had some other opportunities too that we did not take advantage of. I think New Orleans will make it to the Super Bowl but will probably lose to the AFC team.

| william19flores75 (5) | 3 years ago | I wanna thank all of you for your comments. It was heartbreaking that the Eagles lost the way that they did. It seemed as if every time they got a big play, the refs were there to overturn it on some trumped up penalty. I guess as long as the referees have that much power over the outcome of a game the right team will never win it all. That's not to say that the NO Saints didn't play a heck of a game but they don't convince me as the team to beat in the NFC. With that said, GO SAINTS!
