Music: Then and Now...  | | | |  What is the biggest difference in music now and music from back in the day? In my opinion, I think those songs from back in the day had actual meaning. The artists wrote from their hearts when they were going through something. Most older people say that the music now-a-days doesn't have meaning, because most of it is about sex, money, the "hustle", and relationships. Music from back in the day (like from Earth, Wind, and Fire, Lenny Williams, Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Al Green, just to name a few) had meaning. Those songs made you FEEL what the artist was saying. I prefer oldies. What type of music influences you and why? What type of music gets on your last nerve and why?

| |  There's definitely a difference between music back in the day and music now. But I think the difference is more in society and the music reflects that.
Older music has a class that you don't really hear too much of today. Now, I'm not trying to slam music today -- there's some stuff I like, but most of it is just a waste of time.
Not really any kind of music that gets on my nerves -- I like almost everything. But if I had to pick something, I'd say country is my least favorite. Not all country, but just the real whiny songs about cheatin' boyfriends and no good men and all that.
