How long have you been a Potter fan?  |

 Did you read the first book when it first came out in 1997/1998? Or did you pick them up after the movies came out? How did you come about being a Potter fan?
I was just graduating high school when they came out. I had heard some about it but it wasn't until I started at Walmart that I really began to hear the buzz. After the second movie had already came out I caught the Stone on HBO one day. I didn't get to watch it all or from the begining even but I was totally taken in by it. It was long after that I owned the first two movies. Then when Azkaban came out in the theatre I went to see it. At this point I hadn't read the books yet. I was afraid they'd be a lot different and ruin the movies for me. Then a friend of mine let me borrow the 1 - 3. The Order at this time had already been released, but she didn't have it yet. I was completely immersed into Harry's world. I couldn't put the books down. Once I finished Azakaban I immediatly bought Goblet (just happened to be at work at the time). The same for The Order as well. And I've been hooked ever since. So it's going on 4 years for me. In a way I am glad that I wasn't hooked in 98. I'd have to wait way too long in between books. I'm very impatient.

I have been a fan of beatrix potter since early childhood, spent manny happy hour over peter rabbit avoiding rabbit pie and famer Brown, oh yes. Also i fondly remember jemima puddleduck, how I laughed at those stories.
Dennis potter is another great wrier. Do you remember the singing detective and how it acted as a great advert for skin care products and the lipsticking of nipples? fascinating stuff, an education all by itself
Now for harry potter, do you believe a boy can fly? only if you cick him hard enough i would say

I wasn't 12 when the books came out. So once I seen some of the first movie I became a fan. I own all the books in hardback and all the movies thus far. And I'm a bigger fan of the books than the movies. Either way JK Rowling gets her money. | |

5.  cajundharma (548) | 3 years ago |  I've only been a fan for a couple of years. I ready the first book ages ago, and really wasn't impressed, so never read the others. Then my church decided to have a Harry Potter theme summer camp, and asked me to be a "head of house" (ie; one of the parents on the camp committee). I figured I had better learn something about HP if I was going to be at camp for a week with 50 kids show knew the book inside and out. I started to reread them (I had my daughter check them out from the elementary school library, lol), and by Prison of Azakaban I was hooked, and by Order of the Phoenix truly as obsessed as the kids! This will be our third year of camp and we've got some many students enrolled and more on the waiting list that we're doing two weeks of camp this year.
