should i tell to my friend that he will die within a few months?.....

i have a close friend of mine.we're friends right from our kindergarden school.he's a bike race fanatic and used to drive at very high speed.it so happened last week that while he was driving fastly he slipped and had a severe injury.i thought he was dead.after treatment and operation he was slowly recovering.we're all happy.but that didn't last too long.the doctor called me personally and said that he was suffering from bone marrow cancer and said that he would'nt live too long except for a few months.i was shocked.i don't know how to tell this to my friend and his family.please help me...
