What would you do with this situation?  | |  I recently purchased a*very* hard to find DVD from a seller in Australia on Ebay.
I paid on January 8th of this year. In the auction listing, the person stated they would send an email when the item shipped.
No word, nothing.
So I sent off a friendly "hey could I possibly get a shipment date" on the 11th of January. I know full well the item would not be here*that* fast, but rest assured i'd like a shipment date, just so I know when to expect the item.
Well the person took forever to respond, and then said "Oh im sorry, that item is currently out of stock. It will take 10-14 business days to have it back in stock, and once its in, we will ship it to you."
Um, okay.
There was absolutely*no* mention of this on the auction listing, infact it said the item was in stock and ready to go.
So when I questioned the seller about the auction, 20 minutes later an email was sent to me to let me know the item had been shipped.
Then yesterday he emailed me again, and told me he was "really sorry" for the delay, and they would send it out when their stock came in.
Um, this isn't making any sense, considering the email I had received the day before?

If so, you need to notify them that the seller may possibly be scamming you so they will be prepared to refund you your money.

 itsjustmeb (783) | 3 years ago | I did contact Ebay, and am waiting on reply. This entire thing sounds fishy to me, because if you put something up for sale, you should have it. Or put it in the auction listing that you don't have it in stock at this point in time/
and yes I did pay with paypal, I don't want to jump the gun and demand my money back just yet, but this whole thing just sounds royally fishy to me. | |

The only thing you can do is either cancel, and tell ebay the reason for it being that it was false advertising, the item was not in stock. Otherwise, wait for it. When you recieve it mention it on the feedback. However, you may get neg. feedback also. I usually pay no attention to retorical feedback and look at the real problem. Good luck!

This person, now going into his feedback, apparently had this problem before.. I wish I would have read deeper into his feedback now before I was so quick to purchase the DVD.

I recently bought "Beauty and the Beast" from a seller who said they were from the US. I didn't want an import DVD because they are not the "real" ones. Well after a month I was STILL waiting. This person had 5 feedbacks which made me leary but they were 100% and I thought everyone has to start somewhere.
I contacted ebay and paypal, the account was terminated. Eventually, about 2 months later I recieved the DVD, from Thailand! It was an import, a definite copy of the original DVD. Hopefully ebay will refund your money. They usually are pretty good about things. Again, good luck! | |
