I was skimming through some of my cousins old Cooking Light magazines and found this make your own seasoning. I am trying to cut out major amounts of salt from my daily intake but it is not so easy sometimes. I like this homemade mix because it has very little salt per serving size (1 tablespoon)yet all the flavor.

1/4 cup garlic powder
1/4 cup onion powder
2 tablespoons paprika
1 tablespoon ground red pepper
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons celery seeds
1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon lemon pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Combine all ingredients and store in an airtight container.

Thanks so much. I prefer to make my own seasoning mixes, as there are some foods that I have to avoid. Since I'm wimpy when it comes to hot dishes, I could just decrease the red pepper and the chili powder a bit when I make this, right?

Yes, You mix and match the amounts to your taste. The only thing I would not change too much is the amount of nutmeg because that i what gives the mix a hint of sweetness.
