Breastfeeding an adopted child

I am planning to take an adopted child if my financial situation is stable enough to permit me to do so. I have seen in the television that we can actually breast feed babies even though they are not ours. Now there are hormones made into pills so that we can swallow them and we can produce our own breast milk. Have anybody experiencing in this type of breastfeeding? Please share with me the side effects and any experiences you had with it. Thanks.
