There is a ski resort at the top and I have been up there by car. You can then go to the top by ski lifts.

SunSix (11899) | 2 years ago | There has not been any eruptions in Australia in this century. The most recent eruption in Australia was at Mt. Gambier, a shield volcano in the Newer Volcanic Province, South Australia, about 2,900 years ago. There are numerous interesting volcanic provinces n Australia. There are flood basalts of Cambrian age (about 650 million years old) northeast of Halls Crossing in northern Australia. Volcanism commenced about 70 million years ago at volcanic centers in southeast Queensland and northeast South Wales. Compositions range from basalt to rhyolite and includes shields, plugs, and domes. In north Queensland there are some very long basaltic lava flows. For example, at Undara a flow is 100 miles (160 km) long.

everlasting (9089) | 2 years ago | Although I can not scale those mountains in India, I know yours is a beautiful country. What I am interested and want to visit one day is your indigenous people and their culture. My country is a little different in the sense that we have more that 7000 islands and the number varies during low tide and high tide.

mom2chriskel (1000) | 2 years ago | I just looked to see what the United States had. I'm most familiar with Mt St. Helens and the Hawaiian volcanoes. But Alaska has a bunch. There are a total of 169 volcanoes in the U.S. I honestly wasn't aware there were that many! I know one of the ones I'm most interested in is the YellowStone caldera. If that one ever blows, it will be HUGE!

9. Eskimo (1425) | 2 years ago | In Scotland there is a number of mountains called Munros - all above 3000 feet, there are 284 of them and a lot of people try to climb every one of them. The highest is Ben Nevis, one of the most popular is Ben Lomand, at the side of Loch Lomand, this is just over 3000 feet High. There are also another group of mountains called Corbetts, these are 2500 - 3000 feet high, and 220 of these, again they are very popular with climbers and hill Walkers. There are no active volcanoes in my country, although there are a number of extinct ones.
