| Teemu Selanne scored a hat trick - friend with cancer had asked for it  | | | |  Teemu Selanne (Anaheim Mighty Ducks) scored a hat trick (3 goals) in a match against Dallas Stars (Jan 11, 2007). Although a hat trick is nothing super-special, but this one really hit the news.
Before the game Selanne had called to his friend in Finland. This friend has a brain cancer and he's running out of time very soon. He asked Selanne to score 3 goals and send him the puck afterwards. Selanne promised to do this, but also reminded that the odds for a hat trick are pretty minimal.
But the most unusual thing happened. Selanne scored those three goals!

| |  What an amazing story and being a Canadian i can tell everyone not familiar with hockey 3 goals is a nice treat and not reached by many many players in fact i will bet that 80percent of NHL players have never had a hat trick. Reminds me of a story decades ago when Babe Ruth hit a home run for a sick child in the hospital and i am not sure in football coach Lombardi said to his Notre Dame football team win this for the Gipper (a sick player who i think died soon after ) These stories restore faith in the lives of so many thanks Good Luck
