Put em on the street in good weather and see how long they will stay there. Not long I'm sure.

same here,couldnt give them away,some of them work good.well all of them except a really old one work.i need to get rid of the two in the shed and the one in the spare room at least.

gifana,i left a sunbed outside and it stayed there until i got the council to remove it.i told them someone had dumped it near our house.we cant give these things away.its unreal.charity shops and the like wont take them now as they have to pay to get them checked.they are not allowed to sell them otherwise.they would take them if i payed to get them tested.not likely as i know they are safe and in good working order.this might sound bad,but im going to go out in the car one night and dump them,please dont tell anybody

My lips are sealed. Guess you should send em down to Portugal by Pony Express or something. They wouldn't last 10 minutes in my neighborhood. We even have people who rummage through the trash bins looking for things. And you dont have to test em or pay to have em hauled away.

it used to be like that here in the good old days.i think that people here are far to well off these days.everybody seems to always have the latest expensive gadgets.

It's odd but each time we visit the Dump there seem to be a lot of TV and PC monitors. I think the Refuse workers take home the best of it and the rest gets recycled for the semi-precious metals that are used in tiny amounts in some components.

We got new sofas recently and We called the council to get the old ones taken away. It' was £21. I found out that they were going to call me to arange a time and I had given my home number instead of a work number so I gave the council, I had to speak to the refuse contracters directly and when I spoke to someone there they said they liked the sound of the sofas and collected them the next day to go in his own home.

I was glad that thethey are getting used and not just broken up - I couldn't get my £21 back though as that was paid to the council and I didn't want the refuse guy to get in trouble - he owes me one no though so If I get any stuff I can't shift he said to give him a call.

there does seem to be an abundance of these thigs sent to be recycled.
i grudge having to pay the council for services that i already pay for through the extortionate council tax i pay.im glad that your sofa found a good home though,and yes,the guy does owe you one

guess what,i got rid of two of them today,i put them in the trunk of an old car that went away to be scrapped.that was clever,wasnt it

new legislation came out here which states that all electrical goods sold buy thrift shops and the likes of the salvation army must be tested and certified by a council approved electrician.its crazy.we now have a tv mountain the same size as our freezer and washing machine mountains.soon it will be cars to.this place has gone nuts,i joke you not.ive offered them free of charge to no avail.its crazy

i just paid less than 300 of your land of the free dollars for my new lcd tv.the freight would cost far more than the value of the said tv,s.one of them is like new,a 21 inch flatscreen thing with all the features you need on it,and i couldnt give it away.

then i guess you're stuck with all of 'em :)

i havent got the space to keep them all.soon i am going to have a jaguar engine to store as well,as i rebuild it.the tvs and a whole load of other junk,have to go

i bought the lcd tv to match the two tft lcd pc monitors and to spend a bit of money.i bought wifeofjimbo a new pc and the next night bought the tv.i had to buy her the pc cos she wants to do mylot,and because i bought myself a car for my crimbo.had a bit of extra cash to spend so i did.we love spending money,buy everything cash and got no debt.watched a football match earlier and ive got to say the tv is good.the cat hasnt jumped on it yet either.the bunnies like the kids programs in the morning,especially the hoobs when they are on.they grew up beside a tv and they do watch it.i used to have a cockateil that went nuts when i turned the telly off.

ive got a heap of pc stuff as well that all has to go.come up to aberdeen and you can take it all away,no kidding.you would be more than welcome,believe me.

i only use my tv for watching sport and the news,not much else.i find my pc to be of much more entertainment value.anyway,all these ones i want to get rid of,any ideas.as i said,ive tried giving them away to no avail.
