I am in my late 40's and never driven or had the opportunity to learn to drive and from what other people tell me this is unheard of. I wanted to know if I am truly the only one not to have learned to drive in this day and age?

2. mysiraylon (670) | 3 years ago | Of course not, my mom never did had the chance to drive a car so my sisters use to drop her off and pick her up to work before, until she died last year 2000. In your case try to learn it now, it is not too late at your age, especially if you are living in country where public transportation is not available all the time, like in the United States.

4. gsl3692 (436) | 3 years ago | Don't worry, you are not alone. My mom don't drive, she wanted to learn but then so tighted up with kids - thats my brother sister and myself. So, never have chance to learn. I knew she regretted about it, especially when there is car but no one at home and she need to go out. I actually have been thinking,I want to teach her how to drive before I register her to the driving school, to avoid her being scold being slow...you know some instructer use very rude words.

5. NonaSaile (721) | 1 year ago | Well, from the responses you have, you definitely are not alone. Please count me in also for the company. I don't drive. Actually, there are a lot more people like us, if the rest of the world is considered. I even have this theory that in this day and age, there are more people who have never driven than people who have.

7. Loen210 (574) | 8 months ago | Hi there, I always welcome to hear from others who do not drive yet. I am not in my 40's, but still was at the age to drive many years ago. When I was 16, I did mini driving lessons with my father, but then had some health problems that kept me back from learning. It is possible for me to drive now, though some recommend not to and some encourage, but I just have to be very careful.
Do you mind sharing what it is that holds you back? I think from reading one of your responses that you are not fully handicapped from driving. (i.e. partially blind, partially paralyzed, panic attacks, night vision, seizures)

My mother didn't start driving until after she had my sister and I (in her mid 30's).

9. arcidy (4974) | 8 months ago | Well my aunt is in her 50s and shes never driven before. and if you live in a big city like new york you dont really have to drive since everything is so close to you and plus its to much traffic to drive in big cities your better just walking. But im pretty sure your not alone here since a lot of people in big cities have never driven before.
