As the news story goes, Judy, a 120-pound chimpanzee, who escaped from her cage at the Little Rock Zoo in Arkansas, got out and raided a cupboard and then did a little cleaning up before the keepers managed to sedate her and get her back in her cage. Apparently, before coming to the zoo, Judy was a house pet and knew about chores. She also went into the bathroom (while escaped) and picked up a toilet brush and cleaned up the toilet! *laugh* It took the zoo staff a couple of tries to get Judy sedated, but finally she fell asleep on top of the kitchen refrigerator with half a loaf of bread that she had pulled out of the fridge *laugh* More here: http://www.davesdaily.com/out.php?id=23723&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.wcsh6.com%2Fnews%2Fwatercooler%2Farticle.aspx%3Fstoryid%3D50091

See that is my luck a cleaning chimp breaks out and it couldn't have happened in my area! It used a toilet brush? Man it's better trained than my husband :-)

ah, bless, she must have been homesick poor Judy. lol It's a funny story but also a little sad, I would never think of having an animal do my chores. Just another example of mans inhumanity really. Still as the sayng goes if you pay peanuts....

Awwww....that is so sad. It sounds as if Judy missed living in a house rather than the environment that gave her. Of course, if I was used to living as a house pet and suddenly put in a cage without the familiar toilet to relieve myself in...I would be upset and want to sit on top of the frig too so they couldn't take me back to that cage!!! LOL She was even trying to be helpful by cleaning up to get them to let her stay out! LOL Poor Judy! Too bad I couldn't take her. I would love some help around the house! :) ha ha

WOW that is so funny. I have never heard of that. I guess once trained to do something they must always do it. They are more human than we think.

This is too good, I could never train my son to clean, but someone got a monkey to clean and gave it to the zoo. I will gladly bring Judy home with me. I hate cleaning the bathroom. In fact I just did my upstairs one. I do a few questions, then I clean a bit, that way both parts of me are happy...the computer addicted part and the part that wants a clean house.

This is a funny story. I think that was his way of paying for the food that he raided in the cupboard. This is the first time I've heard of a chimpanzee doing chores.
