Discussions with too many responses

I usually tend to avoid discussions that already have a high amount of responses. I just think its less likely my post is going to be read, and once there is 50+ responses, there isn't much more to say! Plus the fact MyLot can be slow to load at times, I just generally steer clear of these "overdone" discussions. What do you think?

I sorta do that. If the post has pages and pages already i won't bother. I don't like to repeat something that some-else may have said and I don't want to go through pages and pages to check. That might be aginst the spirit of Mylot where the topic is more important, but if the topic is interesting and the comments are good then I'll read it regardless. I try to get in on the discussions in the first 5 posts so that my reply is on the first page. You never know how popular your post is going to be and you can't be sure that everybody will read all the posts.

If I post something I'd just think I'm repeating something too. More than 3 pages is enough to put me off unless its an answer that is unique to me.

i do this too. i don't want to read through more than 20 responses. what i'm about to say has probably already been said, no need making a useless response.

I agree with this, although there are always exceptions to the rule. If I find a topic really interesting I will respond even if there are 100 responses. It all depends on how interested I am and what I have to say.

Sometimes I read the other comments people left if I really like the discussion and want to see what others have to say but usually I just add a comment and then move onto the next discussion. Just beacuse a dicussion has a lot of responses doesnt mean its not a good discussion and to me that deserves a comment.
