Have you ever had a hair raising experience that scared you to Death? I have. In my teens our next door neighbors breeded siamese cats. The sounds coming from the love making were excruciating to say the least. In my late twenties I was working in Quito, Ecuador and living by myself in a three-bedroom house in an urban development on the side of a small mountain. One night, about 3am, I was awaking by the most horrendous sound of screeching and screaming coming from the room (it was a flat root). I wasn't quite focused but it was so loud I'm sure they could have heard it in Colombia. I went into the garden off my bedroom and looked up but it was a pitch black night so I couldn't see a thing but the noise continued and was reaching a very high pitch. I looked for some small stones, found one and sent it flying. The sound suddenly stopped but I was shaking so bad it made my teeth rattle and I still couldn't see what it was. By this time I was so shook up that I couldn't sleep. The next day in the Embassy I told the story and someone said that it was probably a couple of cats going at it. For some reason the memory of the siamese cats next door never occured to me. And since I am not a cat lover even less reason for me to takeit into account. It was a real 10- minute hair raising experience. Have you ever had an experience which put you in overdrive in panic? Where? When?

I have had so many hair-raising experiences that I believe it convinced my hair to leave permanently! I have been in windstorms with trees crashing down on me(and in my house) as well as having an lightning bolt hit right beside where I was holding my 2 year old son.

Wow, that last one would not only have been hair raising for me but hair shaving....I would have been bald for sure. Thanks for dropping by and for your input.

Cool story. Quito is such a beautiful city too, but I can imagine being freaked out late at night by strange screams. I don't tend to get too freaked out myself, but only because I just keep telling myself, everything has a rational explanation. My site: http://www.blissful-temptation.co.uk

One of those times I can remember when my hair rose was when I climbed up a tall tree. It's very high up there that I cannot move so well. The view from above was so different from the view by someone at the ground. The roof of the houses are level with the eyes, the sky grows very bright and wide, the branches and leaves surround me. I was anxious of the height but not scared.

You know, I'll tell you honestly that I do understand your feelings. Some scaring sounds are really depressive in the middle of the night, but they are not as depressive as hunting for the meat you can't hunt, if you know what I mean. Once I've met a girl who didn't allow me to touch her until the day she had fallen down in a faint =) It was romantic and scaring at the same time. my space: http://www.edenfantasys.com/
