Talent required in art?

What does it take to call something art? Do you think it needs a millionaire to offer a price or does it need your friend to say "Ooh! That's nice!"? I know a few people who really didn't know a circle from a sphere. They practiced and practiced and now they are envied by many for their work. But is that talent? Maybe to create art, you just need a lot of work. But many disagree with me. They say talent is needed. I guess hidden talents come out from hard work. What do you think?

I don't think any great art results from just talent. Hard work is always needed. Read any story of any great artist and you'll find that their life was always a struggle: to do better with their talent, to achieve recognition, to avoid having their talent crushed by others. Art that's easy isn't often very good art, and probably won't have lasting value.
