Our parents-do we repay enough?

please drop your sceptism right away. your happiness is theirs. be happy. that would suffice. live for them

i am more than grateful for what my parents have done for me for the last 16 years, helped me through thick and thin, and i feel i have done the same for them.

My dad passed away a few years ago, so my mom is here by herself. I tend to see her every week and we spend the day together by going out to breakfast, lunch and antique shopping. She vents to me on how she misses my dad and I listen. I don't feel like I am doing much, but she is very appreciated by the time I spend with her. We may never pay back our parents for all they've done for us, but we can spend time with them even if its just to let them cry on our shoulders for a change. We become parents ourselves, and we don't expect our children to even think of that, for the only thing I ask my children for is to graduate from school, and so far 3 out of 5 did and one does next year.
