what microsoft can do to prevent piracy of new os vista??????????

I also brought a Compaq laptop recently which came with Windows XP.
I also realized that genuine product are more effective.

But why Microsoft would try to prevent piracy of the new Vista os?
I'm pretty sure they aren't against piracy that much...
As long as everybody are using THEIR products... why stopping them?

I applied the same principe with my music band.
I'm offering every single song we did in mp3 format for free.
We are an unknown band so I won't sell any cd anywhere so I got some people downloading our songs and they appreciated it. That's cool!

windows is the operating system which charges u and any way now we have softwares to make the pirated one into genuine .
live ex is: i made my windows genuine from which i am downloading all the updates and what all u have said
i too have a bad expirence like my friend took one lap top (compaq)which is also preloaded with windows and we have to back up the windows on 3 dvd's my friend did all the things correctly
but when he tried to reload the the operating system he faile and he is getting a error that a .dll file missing and there is no proper response from service centre it is 2 months old lap top
but stopping pricy is good but

The quantity of hackers in america is growing day by day so they all are trying to get rid of all problems and i know that windows os system is one of them victim. A friend of mine is also a hacker so i am giving you this information that the hackers are now 100% succesful to make priated windows os in to genuine simply by entering original key of it. And its all done in a simple way ...

its ok if you get the package but did u know that many people use assembled PC as it is more stable and cheap only disadvantage is that u dont have windows and if one were to buy it it is really really costly.....so to them getting a knok-off is a saver......and i do agree to our point all the function u get with an an original just makes it less of an headache to go and get the cracked versions......

I am not sure what do you want to say: if you have windows vista they make you upgrades to each program from thje computer?? That sound strange.
I think they make update only to vista not other software you installed in this PC later.

To be frank I also support the new of orginal verson of the software..but the problem is that piracy can't be stopped it will remain in the atmosphere is some way or the other..The main problem is that we can't change ourself..and prevent us from using pirated version of the softwares..
But Microsoft has really done a fantastic job in the development of their new OS i.e Vista..with optimum security and had done their best to prevent the piracy of this much awaited version of the Windows..

as long as there is a microsoft product, there will always be piracy and viruses, because some people don't want ONLY one person's product will dominate the market.

It will most likely be vulnerable durring it's first year because all the programs will have to readapt to the new vista. THis will also make new viruses come up to infiltrate more security that will be only on vista. Hopefully they will take care of those problems in the next few years after release.

I like Vista already, LOL. But Im not sure my Ati RAdeon 9000 IGP will make it, I think my Intel Pentium 4 and 1.1 gig of ram will.

Windows XP started showing more and more that they are cracking down. The hacked/pirated versions don't get updates as needed... Those security patches are more than important. : ) Maybe that is part of their trick (okay, I seriously doubt they leave holes just to patch them for paid owners only).

Also, they have been killing abused/stolen corporate product keys...
