Pay Off Your Mortgage in 2 Years?

Yes I watched that programme. I couldn't believe that they didn't manage to pay off their mortgage within the 2 years. I couldn't understand why the bloke decided to rent out the house he bought instead of getting on with doing it up and selling it...and then I couldn't believe it when he was rushing round looking for another house to buy to do up when he didn't even follow through on the first! I did feel sorry for the woman when she was trying to sell her baskets, but she didn't seem to have the right sort of attitude or sales patter, and the baskets were too expensive at £90.00.

I think the programme showed me that if you want something then you've got to be prepared to really go for it, rather than attempt to achieve something in a half-hearted way, but I probably knew that already. I was very impressed with how they managed to cut down on their food bill by growing their own vegetables, so that's something i'll definately be considering.

Did you learn anything useful from the show?

I love this programme as I love the idea of paying off my mortgage quickly. If we keep doing what we are doing we should pay the remaining 19 years (£96,000) in 10 years but I would love to pay it off in just a few years and have that financial freedom of that extra income. The thing is with 18 month old twins and me running my own business from home and relying on my husbands income to pay the bills it is notr eay. I am not a risk taker and I think you need to be to suceed in this sort of thing.
