Outrageous Utility Bills. I hate the Gas Company.

Lol, I think EVERYONE else is being ripped off. I don't have gas now because my bill was so high last winter. They shut it off and I have not been able to catch up to get it turned back on. On top of paying the past due, I will have a large connection fee. I'm not going to do it. I'm getting along just fine without it. Maybe even better because I can sleep without visions of a gas meeter spinning in my head.
I think your house would have blown up by now.
Just so you know, I saw on the news that electric is supposed to go up 70% over the next year. It's time to go solar.

that is alot of money for one month. i have propane for my furnance, hot water heater and oven, and i only pay 140 a month, i know propane is a little cheaper then gas, but not by much. there could have a leak but it may not actually be leaking into ur home.

All of the utility company's rip us off and the utility companies have a Commission but they help them rip us off...Have you noticed how offen the get to raise our rate with no service to us....Then when we complain they act like they are from another planet.....I just had a talk with the telephone company on my cell phone because they were to turn off the dsl because I got cable on my computer they set there and argued with me about the speed.......I'm used both and I wouldn't switch to dsl for all the tea in china.....Does these utility company speak utility ease.....Cause half the time you can't understand them........

No, never had that high of a bill descrepency! One time when we closed out our cable before a summer in college... A couple months later I was charged $400 on my check card, and found out that I didn't send them one of the remotes so they charged me for it! Ridiculouls! I found the remote later and sent it to them, but I was pissed for a little while!

OH MY!!!!! thats quite a gas bill!!! I heard of this happeneing here in Oklahoma City where I live it was like a 1200.00 bill for this lady come to find out it was a leak but guess who has to foot that bill her!! But once it was fixed if it happened again it was on them! that is ridiculous! I hope that you get that fixed thats not right at all! I luckily have all electric, otherwise I am sure ours would be outrageous too!

At the beginning of the winter this year my bills were going up $20.00 every month but the last 2 months they have been going up by at least $50.00 each month. The funny thing is, is that the last two months we have been home less then we were before. We had the holidays at a families house so we were gone for that and then we took our Vacation in the middle of January and we were gone for that. It does not make any sense at all. The only thing that I even use the gas for is the heat and hotwater heater. Everything else is electric.

You need to call the gas company back and talk to a supervisor. Keep going up the chain until you get someone who can help you. Obviously there is something very wrong when your bill is 4 times what is was the month before. They should have noticed it was wrong, when it is that radically different. The meter reader could have tranposed numbers (they are human too) or someone input it wrong. But, no one uses 4 times the amount of gas in one month without there being something radically different happening. Keep insisting until someone listens to you.

My electric bill gets so high. I now cut off my circiut breaker at least 2 hours. I have seen a diffearance and love it. When my roommate leaves. I will be shutting it off even more. My food is well cold and I don't open the fridge. I feel like I should be sleeping with Fpl. I am not so there 284.00 is over. I don't even sleep with the air on. My roomate does so this month $165.00 and I am pissed off.

Wow I would be upset too! I'm on the budget plan, so the bill is pretty much the same every month. Once in a while I pay more to pay it down. But at the end of the 12 month cycle, I eather get money back, or have to pay. They let me know in advance, if it will go up or down. I can let them know if I can pay it, they will adjust it for me. Thats nice to have it, I pay $96.00 a month, but it usally goes down in the summer months, and we live in cold Wisconsin...Good Luck..
