I believe most people think bad of hip hop music because it tells the truth about how life really is in some parts of the world and no-one wants us to really know. It's not all a bed of roses and for some people just getting through a day is a blessing. I think it could be both positive and negative on youngsters. Positive because it lets people know they are not the only ones living in poverty or violence stricken areas. Negative as it may lead some to think it's ok to go around shooting people. On the whole though I really don't think you can blame a song or type of music as an excuse to someones actions.
