Apparently, it's not only dogs that attack the postman - here's a cat story! |
| |
| Postal workers are threatning to stop delivering the mail to a certain Sarah Gregg's house - at least as long as her cat is around! Gregg's cat Dipity strikes out at anyone who comes calling. Dipity has now taken a dislike to their postman, and leapt three feet and slashed him, drawing blood, as he slipped his hand through the family's letter box. You hear about guard dogs injuring postmen. You rarely hear about cats! What do you think about this story? Have you ever been in a similar position, with a pet who was aggressive towards the postman, or towards people in general? Have you ever been a postman, and you have stories or aggressive animals on your postal route? Feel free to share anything this story brings to mind! ^_^ More here: http://www.ananova.com/ne... | | | | | |

| | That was a cute story. Thanks for sharing. I once had a cat similar to that one. She would sit under the kitchen table and wait for someone to walk by,then she would pounce on them. She was a very mean cat. I learned to always check under the table before walking by it.lol. | | | | | | |

| | The dog that we had when I was born attacked my parents room mate and gave him like 38 stitches. They put it down because they were worried it would attack me too :p. | | | | | | |

| | LOL that is funny. I love my cats and my puppy. I think I would stay away too. The worst my cat ever got me was the first time I tred to bathe here. She clawed me all up my stomach and chest. I had a Dr visit fro an annual exam. The first thing they ask was "what happened to you" I told them i had cats and they did not aske anything else. | | | | | | |

| | The people need to get a box on their porch. Cats can be vicious. When a cat scratches the person can develop a serious infection that often leads them to the hospital for IV antibiotics. | | | | | | |

| | When I was in college, my roomate had a cat who love to hunt. It was actually a very friendly cat but loved to chase everything from string to chipmunks. One day two 7th day adventists came to the door; one had been there before and the man with her was "in training" and was also mostly blind and had a cane. Although I (nor my roomate) had really any interest in what they had to say, we would always be polite. So, while we are chatting thru the open door, the cat sees the end of the mans white cane tapping in the grass now and then. Suddenly she streaked out the door and starts biting and clawing the cane, trying to kill it! The man stumbled a little in suprise and almost fell off the porch. Thankfully, they saw the humor in it but, we didn't see them much after the "attack cat" incident. | | | | | | |

| | Another great story, thanks wolfie! When I was a little girl of about four we moved into a house in Oregon that kind of "came with" a cat. She was an elderly black cat named Peppy and she was mean as hell! You couldn't pet her even gently or she'd spit and take a swipe at you. Amazing I can still remember that damb cat after 51 years, lol. I remember it broke my heart as a little kid, that I couldn't pet Peppy, because I loved creatures so much.I couldn't figure out why she hated me. Now I think she may have been abused or was hurting from arthritis. I know she was old because she didn't last long after we moved in. Hmm, maybe I should take that up with my folks, now that I think about it. hahahahaa. | | | | | | |

| | I totally understand, cremecheese, and I'm so sorry that that cat broke your heart :( I too had a kitty that wasn't too friendly. We adopted him from a friend's aunt, and he was covered in fleas and hadn't been socialized that much, I think. I got him to replace the kitty that I wrote about in one of my topics that got hurt and had to be put to sleep :( That kitty that died was the sweetest kitty ever. this kitty that I got afterwards was the complete opposite. I mean, he wasn't totally hateful, but he didn't really like people and he didn't want much to do with being petted and all he wanted to do was get outdoors. Finally we let him out and something happened, I don't know if a dog got at him or he got into something that he shouldn't have, but he also died :( I did not have good luck keeping kittens at all. I don't blame you for not forgetting that cat after all this time. Feelings of rejection in any form can be so hard to get over, and that cat would have made me feel very rejected. :/ I know that my own kitty did, lol! I so wanted something to love, and Glenn (the kitty I was talking about above) was not at all into being loved. LOL ^_^ | | | |

| | It's funny to finally hear a postman getting slashed by a cat instead of a dog. Usualy it'sthe dog that starts barking and gets mad then chases and you know the rest. But a cat! Maybe the cat took after a dog it saw :) | | | | | | |

| | LOL! Yes, maybe this cat thought secretly that it was really a dog! Now, that would be a great news story, wouldn't it? *laugh* A cat who believes deep down that it is truly canine. To show it's true identity, it takes to attacking the postman. LOL! ^_^ | | | |
