Are you glad that Law & Order: SVU has been renewed?

I'm not really a fan of the series. I'm a fan of its star, Chris Meloni. I was hoping that he'd leave the show to concentrate on making films because I feel his acting ability is basically wasted on SVU.
What about you? Do you watch the show for the stories, or for its actors? Will you watch the next two seasons of the series?

I've only been watching for about 6 months so I've a lot of episodes to catch up on. I am a huge fan b/c the stories are believable and not so much hollywood hype. I also am a huge fan of the actors on the show, they make the show very believable. My 10 year old neice is the one who got me started watching the show, she hasn't missed an episode for 2 years. I guess her mom didn't know she was such a fan or something, but she knows about all the actors and all the shows. She has an interest in law shows like this, who knows maybe when she grows up she'll be one of them.

That'd be cool if your niece worked in the Special Victims Unit. It's a very tough job (the average person only lasts 2 years in the unit), but it's an extremely important job.
I think the series' earlier years were better (I started watching during Season 5 and have seen the earlier shows on cable and DVD.) I think the quality of the series started seriously dropping during last season, and this season hasn't been better. But that's just my opinion. I advise watching the repeat episodes on the USA network on cable, if you get it.

Thank you for best response. I have not seen many of the "new" episodes, mainly I get to watch re-runs on USA network. I hope it improves and they keep things the same. When they try to improve on an already hit tv show, it is not always a good thing.

Not only am I GLAD the the SVU has been renewed, I am also extatic that they have been showing reruns on the USA Network. I love L&O SVU it is a beautiful show and the acting is amazing, I love how they come up with great story lines that never get me board. My only wish is that they could run it more than once a week.
