Do you think the Cell Phone Companies Charge too much?

I have a problem justifying it myself and I only pay $29.95 for my T-Mobil 300 minutes, which is about all I need. I still get long distance as well as nights and weekends free.

The only reason I thought about changing is to get better coverage when I travel, but my wive has Verizon which usually works well and I go with her.

The newest craze is Cricket and they give you unlimited everything for $49 which seems like a better deal for you if you have it. I haven't heard how well it works.

That's why a lot of people I know are switching to the pay as you go phones. Being charged for something you don't use seems ridiculous. Well, our landline phone company has always done that, so I guess the cell phone company has the right. But charging so much for all the extras just seems ridiculous to me. That's why I don't use the extras - can't afford them. You'd think that with the number of people using cell phones now that the prices would be dropping, but it seems as though the opposite is happening. Maybe we need to get some rich people to do the internet phone stuff so that less people use cell phones and then the cell phone companies will have to charge less.

I buy a prepaid phone, no contracts, and I am in control. I do feel like cell service is overpriced. I pay about 3-4 cents per minute.

i think they do like cingular and all of those companies they give hardly anything for their service for tons of money but that new cricket thing where unlimited texting and minutes really shows how much they are ripping off everyone else because they are prolly only making a few dollars a month off everyone of their people but other ocmpanies like hundreds of dollars of free money being paid over to them

I have had several experiences (sp) with several phone companies, and I feel they all rip you off. Some more than others, and some not so much. All you can do is pick the one that rips you off the least and go with them.
I don't like the company I am with now, but I am like you waiting for my contract to expire, because if you don't it is like 300 dollars per phone for early termination. I personally think that is rediculous. I had a phone through cingular, and the stupid thing quit working, well I still had the second phone on the contract. I used it, and was still being charged for calls being made, and minutes used on the first phone... the stupid thing wasn't even working!!! So I feel that cingular is one of the worst phone companies when it comes to ripping people off on their cell phone bills.
If I were you I would check your bill, and make sure you are making all of the calls you are being charged for. I hope everything works out in the end for you.

prices are too high to me. they charge for any little thing. buy as voip is rising you might see some competition coming for them. also phones are way overpriced. like that iphone 600 bucks with a 2 year contract. i could buy a ps3 with that money.

ya i do agree with u as these companies charges which r hidden in the begning but when we recieves our bill we get shocked to know those chargs

I do think they charge way too much on cell phone calls. It has not affected me too much other than when I go over my maximum amount of minutes each month so I try and keep my calls til after 9pm or on the weekends. The rates are high though when you go over the limits as I have had some outrageous bills for going over. If we talk a lot on the cell phone, we need to find a plan with enough minutes so we dcn't get a high bill.

I have metro pcs. I have unlimited minutes and unlimited long distance for only 45.00 a month. It did go up five dollars from last year but its still the best deal in town. I wouldnt pay 86.00 a month for a cell phone. That is way too high for me.
