Cary Grant was such a wonderfully versatile actor! And very handsome, too...I was just wondering, what is your favorite Cary Grant movie? Mine would have to be Father Goose..it is such a wonderful movie. He could play it serious or funny..either way, he was great! What is your favorite and please tell my why.

The one movie that I remember that Cary Grant starred in was Father Goose. My aging blonde brain does not allow me to remember the details of the movie, but I what I do recall is he played a man with a rough exterior. He soon softened to the woman and her students. I guess I need to rent the movie to refresh my fading memory. Watching these old movies was my favorite Saturday pastime. They were the best movies I recall ever seeing. The movies of today do not hold a candle to them.

you're absolutely right! they don't make movies like that anymore...this morning on American Movie Classics, they had Father Goose on, and now Operation Petticoat...I just love these old movies..they just don't make leading men like they used to either!..thanks for the response

Grant starred in some of the classic screwball comedies, including The Awful Truth with Irene Dunne (the pivotal film in the establishment of Grant's screen persona), Bringing Up Baby with Katharine Hepburn, His Girl Friday with Rosalind Russell and Arsenic and Old Lace with Priscilla Lane. These performances solidified his appeal, and The Philadelphia Story, with Hepburn and James Stewart, presented his best-known screen role: the charming if sometimes unreliable man, formerly married to an intelligent and strong-willed woman who first divorced him, then realized that he was — with all his faults — irresistible.

I love Father Goose :) It is one of my favorites and I have recommended it to many people. I even got my neice to watch it and it's become one of hers. "Goody two shoes and the filthy beast!" hehe My other favorite of his is Arsenic and Old Lace. He is so good as Mortimer Brewster. It is another one I highly recommend. It never fails to bring me to laughter. Between him, the aunts, his brothers and the cops you can't keep a straight face through it. Definitly a must see of his.

Cary Grant was truly great! He was handsome, romantic and a true star. I loved him in _The African Queen_, where he combined good acting in a formula romance with the delights of an exotic location.
