Sneakers, Tennis Shoes, or Something Else?

When I get a pair of shoes like New Balance or Nike, I call them tennis shoes. My friend calls them sneakers. What do you call this type of shoe?

I have actually called those types of shoes by either name. I think that I most commonly call them sneakers, though, since it is easier to say sneakers than 'tennis shoes'. Sneakers are so comfy and are nearly the only types of shoes that I have ever worn, other than a few pairs of sandals and other open-toed shoes that I used to wear in the summer.

I hate wearing sneakers and flat shoes. I'm not even short, but for as long as I can remember, I like my shoes to have big, chunky heals. Boots are my favorite.

I call them sneakers. The shoes i call tennis shoes are those plain white ones that lace up or you can slip them on. The ones that you can usually get really cheap.

Something else, dress shoes to be exact. I don't do a whole lot of sports activities except for golf so I don't wear a lot of sneakers and stuff and for work and other places I go for the dress shoe since it looks the best with my suits.

I just call them runners which to me is short for running shoes! I am a big fan of running shoes and i am never much into heels or anything i guess that could be the tomboy in me!! I almost always buy a mens shoe over a ladies shoe also!
