Smokey crapped on my bed  

i remember in my childhood years my best friend had her cat for a few years, and one day she caught him pooing in the corner of her bedroom and had a wee in her bed, lol. i think they must like to do it there or they must fel comfortable about it!

I would say that you were ignoring him during the game (I've actually seen that happen, lol) and he was trying to get your attention. Hah, the one time you would have actually preferred to be bitten? :) The "kinda bowl thing in the kitchen" is making me wonder.... lol. Do you have litter in there?

I think that cats do that sort of thing occasionally. For example, even though my Columbus did use the litterbox when he first got here, he peed my bedroom rug and then on the leg of a chair in the sunporch. Those were the first and only times that he's done it anywhere else besides his litterbox. Most likely, he was marking his territory. Before I bought him home, I adopted Waffles a week or two earlier.

animals can be lonely and maybe he wanted your attention so that was one sure way of getting it lol xx

Sounds like Smokey is mad at you for some reason. Cat's have been know to get revenge. Have you been neglecting him? Is the kitty litter tray big enough for him to do his business in properly?

We had a kid over at our place one time that mistreated one of out cats. The next thing you know the cat had pooped in his duffle bag.

I'm no animal psychologist, but sounds like he's mad.

LOL-- sorry but it is kinda funny.. My cat has never pooped on my bed-- thankfully.. Maybe he was mad at you-- or wanted you to pay attention to him and you didn't- My cat goes outside-- He howls until I let him out.. He has a litter box too-- but still likes to go out- Beleive me- I'm glad!

Most likely, Smokey is mad. It may be because you were ignoring him or it might be that his litterbox needs cleaned. My cat has never made a mess in anything other than her litterbox, but she has been known to turn over her water dish to get our attention if we've ignored her too long.
And, cats generally bury their poo...in the litterbox. It's a natural instinct for them, from their days of being outside and needing to hide from predators. If I've gone too long (more than a day) in cleaning my cat's litterbox, she let's me know by throwing the litter on the floor.

My cat has never gone to the bathroom except in her litterbox.

There could be a few reasons why Smokey is going in places outside of his box.

He might have an infection so you might want to mention it to your vet.

Are you cleaning his litterbox often enough? Cats are picky and some do not like to go if it hasn't been cleaned.

The rule is one litterbox for each cat in the home PLUS one extra one. So if Smokey is your only cat, you should have 2 litterboxes in different places in your home - in a more quite, dark place and away from their food and water.

There is a reason he is going on your bed and it's because that is where you sleep and he's trying to tell you something. Either he's not happy about something (like the litterbox or the infection) or he's pissed off at you (for those reasons or something different).

Good luck - I hope you get it figured out. Once a cat pees in one place, there is a very good chance they will go back and pee there again because the odor is strong and they smell it which makes them think they can go there again.

I had a cat (my all time favorite cat actually) who would occassionally piddle on the bed quilt. It was always at a time when I was kind of ignoring her. I think cats do things like that when they want to get your attention. Otherwise, they are the cleanest little creatures on earth.
