Dining room or laundry room????  

i would have to go with the dining room with washer/dryer in the garage

I never eat at the table, so I'd probably go with the laundry room.

I would go for the nice laundry room. You can eat in the kitchen and even have company for dinner and eat in the kitchen. It depends on your lifestyle, of course. If you do a lot of entertaining and more formal "dinner parties", then you may want the dining room. But if your guests are family and friends, especially with children, the kitchen is probably a better place to eat anyways. And who wants to lug clothes back and forth to the garage?

This is the option I have to do and a big or wide place. It depends on the clean place and not too mess up. I would choose the one near the kitchen as a laundry room if I had no dining room. If the garage is clean and in the open air, I would select that too.

It really depends on how often you entertain or have big dinners. I have dinner parties fairly regularly, so I would go with the dining room. However, if you plan on eating in the kitchen most of the time, it might be pleasant to have a nice laundry room.

I would opt for the laundry room. We don't eat much in the dining room much anymore, except at holidays. But, I love having the washer & dryer close so I don't have to make so many long trips to do clothes.

I would choose the laundry room. Everytime my mother has ever had a fancy dinner in the dining room, everyone ends up gravitating to the kitchen anyway. It's more informal in there and people can really relax. I'd rather have fun and an easy way to clean clothes than a fancy dining room.

Laundry Room, over a dining room absolutely. I think it's more fun and cozy to eat in the kitchen. Plus when you are entertaining, if you are eating in the kitchen the cook won't feel so isolated.
I'm from an Italian family so no matter what everone gathers in the kitchen :-)

I'm not much of a formal dining room kind of person. I'd prefer the convenience of a first floor laundry room instead. Especially since you can still eat in the kitchen, it would work for me. :-)
