Yoko Ono.  | | | |  Yes folks, in case you didn't know, the wife of deceased Beatle John Lennon is releasing her first LP in six years. This time she's teaming up with some kinda cool people on Yes, I'm a Witch, which hits stores in the US on Tuesday (February 6th). The list includes The Flaming Lips, The Polyphonic Spree, Cat Power, Porcupine Tree, and The Apples in Stereo.Here's where I'm torn. I mean, I just listened to the track she did with Polyphonic Spree, and in my opinion her vocals completely ruin it. On one hand, I love some of the artists that appear on the album (think Flaming Lips) but on the other hand, Yoko herself irks me so much that I don't think I'm going to invest in it.What think you, oh great Music Forum?

| |  I've never really cared too much for Yoko Ono's music either, but to each their own, some people do really like her I guess, and that's cool. If the music on her newest release is really good than I will probably buy a copy, but I would have to listen to a few tracks on the radio before I went out and purchased the CD. Cheers!

| |  she didn't record with the Polyphonic Spree - each artist was allowed to pick songs from her back catalog and re-record/remix them - they chose to use her vocals & give the song a new backing.

| |  I have nothing against Yoko Ono as a person, and I don't think she broke up the Beatles. She was the love of John Lennons life. The mother of his second and as far as I'm concerned she was a big influence on outting him on the striahgt and narrow path, BUT I think her singing sucks. I have to agree with you there. Her voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard. but she's an artist and not a musician so I think that her music is more like art to her and to most people who enjoy it.
